Review of This Mortal Coil

I was fortunate to write in a just released anthology with Logan Thomas Snyder. The only thing is, I'd never read anything he had written before. I decided I would corrct that oversight when This Mortal Coil was released. What I didn't know at the time was this story is not new, it is a polished version of his very first attempt at fiction.

I would not have guessed this was a first attempt.

At the very beginning of the book, a young man wakes up wearing a jumpsuit, but he has no memory of his life up to now. Quickly, he witnesses another lost-looking person in a jumpsuit get hunted down and murdered. And so the main character finds himself running from certain death with no idea why anyone wants him dead.

Over the course of the story, the author adds layer upon layer of complexity to the book. Reading this story reminded me of playing a video game, the reality of the world continues to develop and reveal itself to you as you go.

If you are a fan of military video games, LOST, and Battlestar Galactica, you would probably like this book.

Logan is a talented writer, and I hope I get to work with him again in the future.
